Yes!!!! We have eBooks that you can read from home or anywhere that you have Internet access. There are currently just over 300 books with a variety of different genres. eBooks from across the district are grouped together on this “shelf” to give us all access. This means that you will see elementary as well as middle and high school books on the shelf. Take a look! I know that there will be something there for you. To check out an eBook, Got to the DESA Catalog page look toward the upper right for eStudent. Click the link to log in. Your log in, as always, is your school ID and your password is the last four digits of your ID. Teachers can also use the eStudent or eProfessional “shelves” on the DESA Catalog page. You too will use your ID, but put 10 in front of your ID because it must be 7 digits. If your ID is still too short add an extra 0 (100) and your PIN is the last four of your ID as well. Happy Reading!!!

Check out the DESA Book River! Use it to see all of the books in our library. You can search, see the bookcover, read what it’s about and even request to read it. Didn’t see the book you want? Search district wide and have another library send us the book. You can also use the link in Book River to manage your account. Use the “My Account” link to see the books you have out, due dates and to renew your books. This is a great tool for staying organized! Keep up with due dates for books and make sure you don’t get left behind because of a lost book!

You can also use the online catalog to search for a book or resource. Search the DESA library catalog and reserve books here. Remember that your log in is your school ID number and the password is the last four numbers of your school ID.

This document provides the database links and the password. If using Nettrekker search engine make sure you use disddallases with the password: student.

If you don’t have a Dallas Public Library card GET ONE!!!!! You can apply online and follow up at the library to get your card. Did you know that there are eBooks you can borrow and read for FREE???? You don’t have to go to the library to choose them, check them out, or return them. What could be easier?
